IMM takes on growing iPad market
The Apple iPad is one of the most sought-after devices in the tablet market. There is a rising demand for the gadget not only by tech enthusiasts but also regular consumers. It is considered a massive success, grossing sales of over 15 million units within a year of its release. With projected sales of 28 million units in 2011, the iPad is here to stay.
The IMM is taking advantage of the phenomenal rise of this device. Apart from making Pastor Chris’ messages available on supported audio and video formats, it has also formatted other ministry materials, books especially, for the iPad. Pastor Chris’ podcasts are also available for download on the iTunes store.
A report by Mobclix highlights that books take the highest chunk of the apps available on the App Store. This is a very interesting statistic, something the IMM is taking seriously. At the moment, some of our ministry’s resources –Don’t Stop Here, Seven Things the Holy Spirit will Do For You and the monthly devotional, Rhapsody of Realities– are already listed on the iBookstore; other titles are currently under review.
Apple revealed recently that users have downloaded 130 million books from the iBookstore. This startling statistic suggests that there is an enormous potential to reach people with the Word of God through this medium. It is important to state, too, that books by Pastor Chris and Pastor Anita are also available on the Amazon Kindle and the Nook Store.
There is increased motivation to develop apps for the iPad market. The prodigious growth of the tablet presents a unique platform for the furtherance of the Gospel. The IMM is poised to exploit this opportunity by delivering our ministry resources in every conceivable format.
