FILE TRANSPORT TECHNOLOGY TO SATELLITE TV STATIONS

It is claimed that the internet is making television obsolete and that in the nearest future, it will completely replace it. While this idea might appeal to many, current trends may suggest that we might be more likely to see an evolution of the way the television system runs.
It is safer to say that internet based television will be a more feasible future that “no television; internet only” viewing of programs which were hitherto designed for television. This metamorphosis is already being set in motion through various ways of merging internet technology and the television broadcast.
There are now live broadcast of television programs on the internet, posting of episodes of television programs on the internet and so on. The prevalent system today makes television and the internet form a symbiotic relationship where television is dependent on the internet and vice versa.
Another common way in which these two seeming extremes converge is in the area of video file transport. This is the transfer of video files from one point to the other through the internet. Video files are characteristically large and this makes it difficult to send them through the internet while still maintaining picture and sound quality. In most cases, the video has to be compressed using various file compression technologies but this still comes up short on the high quality which would be required in certain areas of application especially in television broadcast.
Our ministry is at the front of using the television platform to reach the ends of the earth through our satellite stations and the transfer of video files from one place in the world to the other is a part of our worldwide broadcast system.
Usually, video files of our ministry television programs are packaged in DVDs and DV tapes which are sent across the world via post. This involves logistics and material costs with delivery time being dependent on external and human factors. Needless to say; in a fast paced world, this system of video file transport is quite cumbersome and largely inefficient when the goal of networking the world is in view.
The Internet Multimedia Ministry – being at the forefront of championing the ministry’s utilization of modern technology – is making this crucial aspect of the successful coverage of the satellite television stations less cumbersome through Video File Transport Services. Our Video File Transport services allows for long-play media file to be delivered from the production teams of our ministry programs to the satellite TV stations at super high speed; yet at excellent broadcast quality.
Ministry flagship programs such as ‘Pastor Chris Teaching’, ‘Enter the Healing School with Pastor Chris’, ’Atmosphere for Miracles’, ’Rhapsody Travels’ and ‘Rhapsody Daily’, ‘Prevailing Word’, ‘Best Kind of Life’ are now being transported via this technology, eliminating the delay usually experienced in program broadcast and dispatch to stations. This also eliminates the recurrent expenditure incurred from the cost of tapes and discs used in the old process.
Programs have been transported to LoveWorld SAT and LoveWorld TV stations and this has helped in raising these satellite stations’ quality of delivery to their audience.
The station manager for LoveWorld SAT – Pastor Funmby Adenuby – testifies to the great impact of the video file transport services provided by the IMM-
Hi IMM team,
I am excited to let you know that we can now migrate our contents delivery from hard copies such as broadcast tapes and DVD formats to internet FTP file uploads; thereby cutting costs and increasing our delivery speed for transmissions.

In fact, we started using the intra net network set up to move our in house files from the editing room straight to the server. I am most eager and full of joy and gratitude to God to update my boss (Pastor Ose) with this progress report as she has mandated that the station is technology savvy within a given time following the present trend in the media industry. Thank you, thank you and thank you.

We are excited about making this special contribution to the work of the ministry. More so, we are proud of our ever committed partners for enabling us to deliver this solution to our ministry’s satellite television stations. We truly appreciate your commitment to taking the Gospel to the ends of the earth by supporting causes in the application of technology to the work of the ministry.
Thank you IMM partners! You are simply the best! We are consistently pushing the boundaries to find new ways of applying new and emerging technology for the furtherance of the Gospel. You can be a part of these efforts through various sponsorship packages.
